This Vermintide 2 Shade Build specialises in slaying groups of Elites quickly while staying stealthed. It is also very good at boss damage.
Weapons
Our melee weapon is the Dual Daggers. This weapon deals excellent damage on Critical Hits, which we'll be utilizing a lot on the Shade. Some players find the Dual Daggers hard to use because they only have 2 base Stamina Shields and have a small attack range and very little cleave. We've added +2 stamina to the Necklace to make this a little easier to manage, but you can swap to another weapon like Sword & Dagger if you want, and the build will still work fine.
Important Dual Dagger Combos:
- Against Hordes - Spam LAs. You'll need to be good at space management and dodging, because we have weak cleave and a weak push.
- Against Elites and Bosses - Chain HAs and aim for the head.
- Move Tech - Spam the first HA, tapping block after each one to reset the sequence. This lets you move a little faster.
For the ranged weapon, we're using the Volley Crossbow. This is a matter of preference, though. You can just as easily use Longbow or Moonfire Bow here, whatever you prefer.
Talents
- Khaine's Thirst - Gives you THP when you slay enemies. The amount is scaled based on the enemy's max HP. Defeating Elites will give you lots of THP back, and getting the final hit on a boss can refill your HP bar.
- Cruelty - Increases your Critical Damage Bonus by 50%. This is essential for the build, and ensures you can one-shot Chaos Warriors with stealthed backstab, and massively boosts your boss damage.
- Assassin - Increases the damage bonus of your Headshots and Critical Hits.
- Chain Killer - Charged backstab increase your backstab damage by 25% for 5 seconds, stacking twice for a 50% boost. This is great for giving you more boss damage.
- Gladerunner - 10% extra Movement Speed. This is a great mobility buff.
- Shimmer Strike - Leaving Infiltrate gives you Stealth for 3 seconds. Killing an Elite or Special enemy extends the Stealth by 1 second. You can use this to eliminate entire Patrols single-handedly, as long as you get accurate melee headshots on the Elites while backstabbing in stealth.
To get the most out of the build, you need to utilize the Blur passive. This gives you 1 second of Stealth when you Parry an attack and then quickly dodge. This is especially important for surviving difficult situations.
For your Potion, try to use either Strength or Concentration. They are both as good as each other for this build.
Finally, if you're playing on Cataclysm difficulty, replace the Curse Resistance with Movement Speed or Cooldown Reduction.
